Top Tuesdays: Top 5 Fandom Books/Book Series I Need to Read

Hi everyone,

In honor of September 1st (back to school at Hogwarts), I thought I would start my first weekly posting series. I’m calling it Top Tuesdays, and I’m going to be making “top 5” lists of all sorts of stuff (my top 5 favorite movies/books, my top 5 places to visit, etc.). I can’t guarantee that I’ll write one every week, but I’m going to try. My first one is about the fandom books I haven’t read yet.

This may sound crazy for a fandom addict, but I quite honestly haven’t had time to read these books yet.

1. The Hunger Games trilogy

I know, right? I just posted about the new Mockingjay – Part 2 trailer and now I’m saying I haven’t even read the books! I’m honestly disappointed in myself. This is definitely number one on my list.

2. The Lord of the Rings trilogy

I’ve read The Hobbit more than once and seen all three movies with Martin Freeman so I can truthfully say I am a J.R.R. Tolkien fan. I actually tried to read the first Lord of the Rings book many many years ago and I couldn’t really understand it. I definitely need to try again now that I’m not 10 years old.

3. The Divergent trilogy

Normally my rule is to always read the book before you see the movie, but I actually broke my rule with this one. I reluctantly watched Divergent with my sister one night, and I really liked it. But I’m definitely going to read the rest of the books before I see the other movies.

4. The Fault in Our Stars

I’m normally not interested in “teen romance” (I guess that’s what you could call it) books; I’m more interested in the sci-fi/fantasy category. But everyone’s been raving about this one for ages so I guess I’ll give it a go. Who knows, maybe I’ll love it!

5. The Maze Runner

I didn’t really think about this one until I saw my brother carrying the book around. I’ve heard a lot of great things about it, and it sounds like my type of book. So why not?

That’s all for this Top Tuesday! Until next time!

Have any other books in mind? Comment below!

  1. I’ve read all of these except The Maze Runner.
Hunger Games were great. I couldn’t put them down! And the good news is that they’re really close to the movies.
LOTR were…underwhelming. I know people loved them and if you loved The Hobbit so much, you’ll probably like them too, but I just couldn’t get into them. They were too long and complicated and slow.
The Divergent series were also good. Not as good as Hunger Games, but I still enjoyed them. However, the movies strayed from them a lot.
TFIOS was cute. It wasn’t annoying or anything. It’s John Green’s best book in my opinion!
    Happy Reading!
